Rain fell through the night before, and throughout the day, sometimes heavy.  Combining with snow melt, the near Biblical deluge brought Indian Creek roaring out of its banks.  The raging torrent rose ever higher throughout the day, and by the time we picked up controls, two of them were isolated by knee-deep flood waters.

 

It was a muddy, sloppy adventure for all, including several spectacular falls as runners skidded to a stop at the finish control.  Koert Miller, Salinda Miller, and Mae Evans all ended up punching the finish control from seated positions, Mae easily winning the title of “muddiest kid” for a slide worthy of a major league baseball player stealing home!  At least it was a very warm day for December, and more than 30 folks braved the elements.
