by Courses:
Explanation
of courses: Due to extremely wet and
slippery conditions, two courses were added at the last minute. Therefore, the ascending numbers don’t
reflect ascending difficulty as is normal.
Course
1 was the original 2.2 km, 12 control white course. Due to a very steep and slippery downhill
between 6 and 7, and eroded trail between 8 and 9, Course 5 was created as a
truncated course of 1.7 km (enough to meet BSA requirements of a 1 mile course
without descending the hill). Course 4
was also a late but easy addition, mostly white with a yellow leg or two. Courses 2 and 3 were original short courses
of expert difficulty (brown), with Course 2 about 40% open parkland and the
rest forest, while course 3 was entirely a forest course.
In
ascending navigational difficulty, I’d rank the order as 5-1-4-2-3
