"Easter Egg Orienteering" events

Saturday, April 7, 2012 Governor Bebb, starts 10 am - Noon

Use the map to locate treasure!  You will get a very detailed color map of the park.  At each point marked on the map, you will find a basket of plastic Easter eggs.  The eggs at any one location are all the same size and color. Collect one egg from each location.  When you return to the finish, you will have a colorful collection of plastic eggs.  Exchange the plastic eggs for a candy treat or toy.  All points will be on or near existing trails, but finding them all may require traveling steep sections of trail and crossing park roads.  All ages are welcome!  Parents should accompany younger children, but those who are mature enough to safely cross the park roads may do the course by themselves if desired.  Parents: If your child has allergies to peanuts, dairy, or other food, please be sure to supervise your child's prize selection!

You may start the course any time during the times listed (10 - 12 Saturday).  There will also be more challenging orienteering courses available for teens and adults looking for more adventure.  More details can be found on the Event Schedule page at www.ocin.org

Fees: (individual or family group doing a course together) $7 for Orienteering Cincinnati members, $10 for non-members.  This includes a highly detailed color map of the park.  You can complete the course without a compass, but we will have rental compasses available for $1 for the day if you would like to try one.  We encourage every group, especially children orienteering alone, to carry a safety whistle for emergency use; whistles may be purchased for $1.
