| Safety Alert - 2011-2012 Hunting Season: Avoid training in parks and forests open to hunting during gun seasons. Wearing orange is recommended in all areas through all deer seasons. This list covers deer hunting seasons in Orienteering Cincinnati's normal event areas and does not include early muzzleloader season in parts of SE Ohio, elk season in western Kentucky, and bear season in parts of SE Kentucky. There are also extensive fall hunting seasons for turkey and other game. Check the state DNR pages for details.
OHIO Deer firearms season is Nov 28 to Dec 4 and Dec 17-18. Youth gun season is Nov 19-20. Muzzleloader is Jan 7 - Jan 10. Archery is Sep 24 through Feb 5.
KENTUCKY Deer firearms season is Nov 12-27. Youth gun season is Oct 8-9 and Dec 31 to Jan 1. Muzzleloader is Oct 15-16 and Dec 10-18. Crossbow is Oct 1 -16 and Nov 12 - Dec 31. Archery is Sep 3 thru Jan 16.
INDIANA Deer firearms season is Nov 12-27. Youth gun season is Sep 24-25. Muzzleloader is Dec 3-18. Archery is Oct 1 - Nov 27 and Dec 3 to Jan 1. Urban Archery Sept 15 - Nov 27 and Dec 3 to Jan 1.
