Beginners are always welcome and basic instruction is offered at no charge.
OCIN Events are held rain, shine or snow.     In the event of severe storm or snow emergency, check this site on the morning of event.

Sat, Dec 10, 2016     TROL #4, Sebald Park, Middletown, Ohio
    Sebald Park Butler County MetroPark, west of Middletown, Ohio and north of Trenton, Ohio. **Note: With the acquisition of Weatherwax Golf Course, Metroparks has decided to re-name Sebald Park as Elk Creek Park, effective in 2017**
    A full range of courses - tentative lengths: white 2.0 km; yellow 3.8 km; orange 5.3 km; brown 3.4 km; green 6.0 km; red 7.3 km. White, yellow and brown courses will be relatively flat. Orange, green, and red will climb the steep hill but be rewarded with several fast legs on the newly added golf course portion of the map.
    Start times 11 am to 1 pm. You may start a course any time between 11 and 1. Event Director Mike Minium No pre-registration is needed, just show up. But, if you are bringing a large group, please notify the event director at least 2 days in advance.
    Fee: regular OCIN rates: $7 for members, $10 for non-members; $2 discount if you own your own SI timing card, free for 2016-17 TROL Season pass holders.
    Vehicles entering the park must have a Butler County MetroParks vehicle permit. Permits will be available on site. These are free to Butler County residents with identification. Non-resident permits are $5 daily or $10 annual.

    Advanced Courses ONLY (orange, brown, green, red and blue). Pre-registration REQUIRED thru Indy-O website; no day-of-event registration. Due to unimproved access roads, this event may be cancelled due to rain or snow - pre-registered participants will be contacted if this happens. Sponsored by Indiana Crossroads Orienteering (ICO).     Night score-style course at Cricket Holler Scout Camp. Registration at 5 pm, Mass Start at 6 pm with 1 hour time limit to find as many as you can, "Search and Destroy" control pickup at 7; potluck dinner party follows - please bring a salad, side dish or dessert. Dec 31, 2016 and Jan 1, 2017    New Year's Orienteering
    New Year's Eve Night Score-O, New Year's Day will have a full range of courses. Camp Timberhill, Hamilton. Event Director Mike Minium There will be pre-registration for the night course and anyone wishing to stay overnight in the cabin. Note that the cabin will NOT have running water or heat this year; portable toilets will be available outside.     Vehicles entering the park must have a Butler County MetroParks vehicle permit. Permits will be available on site. These are free to Butler County residents with identification. Non-resident permits are $5 daily or $10 annual.
