Beginners are always welcome and basic instruction is offered at no charge.
OCIN Events are held rain, shine or snow.     In the event of severe storm or snow emergency, check this site on the morning of event.

June 12-17, 2016    G.O.A.T. Training Camp, Georgia
    The Georgia Advanced Orienteering Training is a week long summer camp for teen orienteers who are successfully competing at yellow course level or above.
    Preregistration required, cost is $300. Entry is closed.

June 13-14, 2016     MetroParks Adventure Challenge Camp
    Summer day camp for kids ages 6-12, various activities. Orienteering course will be offered one of the days, in addition to climbing, geocaching, archery, and other adventures. Limited to 40 kids; Pre-registration is required thru MetroParks of Butler County. Forest Run MetroPark, Hamilton.
    9:30 am to 3:00 pm both days. Fee is $40 for Butler County Resident, $50 for non-resident. Registration deadline June 11 or when capacity is reached.

Every Tuesday, 2016     OLOU Summer Sprint Series, Louisville, KY
    Sponsored by Orienteering Louisville (OLOU). See Orienteering Louisville website for details. Every summer Tuesday eveing, a short "sprint" course will be offered in the Louisville area, generally within the I-264 (Waterson) bypass. Starts are open from 6 to 7 pm.
   

Thursday, June 16, 2016     OCIN Thursday evening - Big Bone Lick SP, Union KY
    starts 5:30 to 7 pm; 2 or 3 short courses will be offered. Event fees; $7 for members, $10 for non-members. $2 discount if you have your own SI timing card. Free for 2016 TROL season pass holders. Do as many courses as you like for a single price. Beginners welcome.

June 16-19, 2016   United World Games (youth -18), Klagenfurt, Austria
    United World Games. Orienteering includes 2 middle distance races and a sprint relay. Eligibilty: youth 18 or under (born 1998 or later).

June 27-30, 2016     Delhi Township Parks "Adventure Days" Camp
    Summer day camp for kids ages 4-12, various activities. Orienteering course will be offered one of the days, in addition to other outdoor adventures. Pre-registration is required thru Delhi Township Parks.
    9:30 am to 3:00 pm both days. Fee is $20.

June 29 - July 4, 2016    Laramie Daze, Wyoming
    6 days of orienteering in the high country of Medicine Bow National Forest. June 29 - July 1 will feature 3 mass-start races; July 2-4 will have 3 national ranking days.
    Event website Registration is open. Online preregistration is required. Late fees begin on June 16. Entry closes on June 24.

    24 hour navigation event, teams of 2. open entry, but those who complete a qualifier event usually get priority for limited slots.

    world championship races for those in 35 and older age classes, opem entry.

    Join us for a rare Bi-state event, with a chance to run through 2 states in a single race on the Indiana-Michigan border, just outside of South Bend. Although this is pretty far from our home base, OCIN is eager to support development of new orienteering clubs and orienteers in the surrounding region. Event Director: Thurston Miller

Sat, Oct 8, 2016     East Fork State Park, Amelia, Ohio
    A full range of courses - Special competition for JROTC students, but there will be courses open to all ages and abilities. East Fork State Park, South side, Amelia, Ohio. Event Director: Mike Minium
    Locator Map Directions: From I-275, take exit 65, and take Ohio 125 east for about 10 miles, passing thru Amelia (watch for 25 mph speed trap). Turn left on Bantam Rd and follow signs toward the beach. Do not take OH 32 or you will be on the wrong side of a very large lake!

Sat, Oct 29, 2016     "Trail of Treats" Forest Run, Hamilton, Ohio
    Location is tentative. Very easy white level course. Kids can collect tokens at each control, which can be exchanged for a bag of candy at the finish. Probably will ONLY offer teh white level course. Metroparks will have other activities, probably including a hayride, straw-bale maze, and more.

    A full range of courses. tentatively at Diamond Oaks, Cincinnati West. "TROL" is Orienteering Cincinnati's annual winter series of events, geared mainly to youth in high school and below. However, TROL events are open to all ages and abilities. Public is welcome at all OCIN events.
