Beginners are always welcome and basic instruction is offered at no charge.
OCIN Events are held rain, shine or snow.     In the event of severe storm or snow emergency, check this site on the morning of event.

Every Tuesday, Summer, 2016     OLOU Summer Sprint Series, Louisville, KY
    Sponsored by Orienteering Louisville (OLOU). See Orienteering Louisville website for details. Every summer Tuesday eveing, a short "sprint" course will be offered in the Louisville area, generally within the I-264 (Waterson) bypass. Starts are open from 6 to 7 pm.

Sat, Aug 27, 2016     St. Patrick's County Park, South Bend, IN
    Join us for a rare Bi-state event, with a chance to run through 2 states in a single race on the Indiana-Michigan border, just outside of South Bend. Although this is pretty far from our home base, OCIN is eager to support development of new orienteering clubs and orienteers in the surrounding region. Event Director: Thurston Miller
    Locator Map and Directions coming soon. From Cincinnati or Dayton, take I-74 or I-70 to Indianapolis. Go nborth on I-465 to exit 31, then take US 31 north until you cross I-80. Take next exit (Brick Rd) and go east, then use the locator map.

    Hudson Valley Orienteering is teaming up with Western Connecticut Orienteering Club to bring you the United States Classic Distance Orienteering Championships; Two days of quality orienteering on a new map of Ward Pound Ridge, NY.

    A full range of courses - Special competition for JROTC students, but there will be courses open to all ages and abilities. East Fork State Park, South side, Amelia, Ohio. Event Director: Mike Minium
    Locator Map Directions: From I-275, take exit 65, and take Ohio 125 east for about 10 miles, passing thru Amelia (watch for 25 mph speed trap). Turn left on Bantam Rd and follow signs toward the beach. Do not take OH 32 or you will be on the wrong side of a very large lake!

Sat, Oct 29, 2016     "Trail of Treats" Forest Run, Hamilton, Ohio
    Location is tentative. Very easy white level course. Kids can collect tokens at each control, which can be exchanged for a bag of candy at the finish. Probably will ONLY offer teh white level course. Metroparks will have other activities, probably including a hayride, straw-bale maze, and more.

    A full range of courses. tentatively at Diamond Oaks, Cincinnati West. "TROL" is Orienteering Cincinnati's annual winter series of events, geared mainly to youth in high school and below. However, TROL events are open to all ages and abilities. Public is welcome at all OCIN events.

    An all-day training camp, geared mainly for youth 10-17, but open to all. There will ba a mix of classroom instruction and outdoor navigation activities and progressively more difficult short orienteering courses. tentatively at Miami University, Oxford.
