It
was a chilly day, with light rain beginning before noon, and a steady drizzle
to light rain through most of the afternoon.
Green and Red runners were treated to a control in OCIN President Amy
Lamborg’s carport. A couple runners were
reluctant to approach what was obviously a private residence, even though it
was clearly shown on the map as the one in-bounds residence between neighbor
houses which were marked out-of-bounds.
We would not have put a control there if we didn’t
have permission from the owner. The
portion of the courses in Western Woods was more limited than in the past, due
to the expansion of deer hunting areas, but runners on orange, green, and red
crossed under US 27 for a section in Peffer Park and Silvoor
Preserve, and everybody got a taste of the beautiful Western Campus.
Until January 1, we now have TWO systems to upload, view and share your route. Please try out both of them. Let us know which one you prefer. Orienteering USA (OUSA) is investigating whether to subsidize a Livelox subscription for all OUSA clubs.
