Thanks to all volunteers
who helped with this event including Amy Lamborg, Matthew Robbins, Dylan
Gonyer, Bree Gonyer, Jamie Hunter, Khloe Sparks, Jasper Young.
It was reasonably pleasant
in the shade and forest, but scorchingly hot for October in the open ball
fields and prairie trails.
On the long course,
juniors Egor, Vasilisa, and Chloe all successfully completed the in-the-woods
controls (first half of the course), but elected to stop rather than continuing
through the open fields and prairie trails.
It might have made sense to have planned a truncated course of just the
in-the-woods controls had we known how hot the weather would be.
