Event Director – Mike Minium

Thanks to Bob Frey and Vicki Huseman, volunteers who helped with this event.

The day dawned cold, but gradually warmed to pleasant levels.  Students from an Aiken HS physics class got to try orienteering courses, while applying their skills to compute vectors (direction and distance) for each leg of the courses.  By the time they got to try the third course, there was some serious competition for the fastest time. They then created their own courses using the controls shown on the master map.  18 students and 4 adults participated.  Students will next have the challenge of designing their own courses on their school grounds.
