Camping

Hueston Woods State Park – very large campground with a variety of modern and primitive sites. Campsite reservations may be made beginning 6 months before arrival date (early October for early April). Camping reservations. (ReserveOhio) Be careful to double check the dates and park, the site likes to default back to current date, or suggest other Ohio State Parks.

Governor Bebb Butler County MetroPark – limited number of electric and group sites, 20 minutes south of Oxford. Significantly less totality than Hueston Woods or Oxford. Campground information. Call MetroParks office at 513-863-5835 during normal daytime business hours for reservations

Whitewater Memorial State Park, Liberty, IN – moderately large campground. 20 minutes NW of Oxford. Slightly more totality than Hueston Woods. Camping reservation link (ReserveAmerica).

Mounds State Recreation Area and Quakertown State Recreation Area, Brookville, IN – very large campground, 20 minutes west of Oxford. Comparable totality to Hueston Woods. Camping Reservation link (ReserveAmerica)

Tourist Activities

Eclipse viewing – exclusive viewing area for orienteers on Monday afternoon, at an orienteer-owned farm northwest of Hueston Woods (northeast of Liberty, Indiana), with 3:31 of totality, nearly 90% of the maximum along the centerline of the eclipse. (You must pre-register for eclipse viewing when completing your online registration for the orienteering event)
