Public is welcome at all events, unless specifically noted in the announcement. Beginners are always welcome and basic instruction is offered at no charge. OCIN Events are held rain, shine, or snow. In the event of severe storm or snow emergency, check this site on the morning of event.

    Join us for OCIN's first ever Corn Maze Orienteering at Today's Harvest, New Paris, Ohio. Orienteering starts at 5 pm. Come early to enjoy numerous other activities and the country store, which will be closing at 5. After 5, we will have exclusive use of the maze, but other activities will be closed.

    Season passes give FREE entry to all league events from November 2025 thru March 2026, plus pre-season events in October! Link to purchase 2025-2026 passes is coming soon!

late October, 2025     MetroParks of Butler County
    Adventure with a map! Participants get a detailed map and try to locate a series of control points shown on the map. Suitable for all ages, you may compete for the fastest time, or just enjoy a leisurely hike, while using our map to explore the park. There will be five different courses of varying difficulty and length - there is one suitable for every adventurer.
    The easy course, Trail of Treats, is designed for young children, and upon finishing the course, children get to select a toy, book, or pack of candy to take home. The Trail of Treats costs $4 per child with a $10 family maximum; adults may accompany young children at no charge. Costumes are encouraged, but expect to possibly get dirty, especially if it is a wet day.
    Older children and adults may also choose to try one of the more difficult courses; the fee is $10 per person. You may do multiple courses at no additional charge.

    pre-registration required. Details coming soon. Normal format is: Friday Middle Distance Race. 2-stage Classic Distance races on Sat and Sun (full range of courses). The annual Mal Harding Extreme-O on MLK Monday.

April 10-12, 2026     OCIN Flying Pig XXVIII, OUSA 2026 Junior Nationals
    . All three races are NRE sanctioned.
    Friday April 10 - Afternoon Middle Distance NRE (National Ranking Event) at Hueston Woods State Park, Oxford, Ohio
    Saturday - Sunday, April 11-12 - - OUSA Junior Nationals - Two-Day Classic at Mounds State Recreation Area, Brookville, Indiana
    Early lodging information and room blocks will be posted soon. Spring weekends in the college town of Oxford, Ohio will be busy. The good news is two new hotels are opening soon in Oxford (Fairfield Inn opens this August, Holiday Inn Express is supposed to open before the Pig)
    Embargo At this time, all parts of Mounds State Recreation Area are embargoed for orienteering events and training, except you may use the campground and beach. You may drive the paved park roads to access the campgrounds, beach and boat ramps.
    Embargo At this time, all parts of Hueston Woods State Park are embargoed for orienteering events and training, except you may use the campground, golf course, marina, beach, lodge, and cabins. You may drive the paved park roads to access the non-embargoed facilities. Please note that the mountain bike, equestrian, and disc golf facilities are embargoed and may not be used prior to the event on April 10.
