Public is welcome at all events, unless specifically noted in the announcement. Beginners are always welcome and basic instruction is offered at no charge. OCIN Events are held rain, shine, or snow. In the event of severe storm or snow emergency, check this site on the morning of event.

November, 2024 thru March, 2025     OCIN TROL and WARS Season Pass
    Season passes give FREE entry to all league events from November 2024 thru March 2025, plus pre-season events in October!
    TROL (Tristate Regional Orienteering League) pass is for students in grade 12 and younger. Students (including home school) should purchase a TROL pass even if they plan to run adult level WARS courses. The TROL season pass includes a year of membership in OCIN and OUSA. Register now for your 2024-2025 TROL season pass (students in high school or younger)
    WARS (Winter Adventure Running Series) is for adults who are above high school age. Event rankings are based on age. You may also purchase or renew an OCIN annual membership with your WARS pass. Register now for your 2024-2025 WARS season pass (adults above HS age)
    When you register, if you have an Orienteering USA account, the registration system will auto-fill your personal information; if not, select "enter data manually".

Saturday, Oct 19, 2024     Indian Creek MetroPark
    Adventure with a map! Participants get a detailed map and try to locate a series of control points shown on the map. Suitable for all ages, you may compete for the fastest time, or just enjoy a leisurely hike, while using our map to explore the park. There will be five different courses of varying difficulty and length - there is one suitable for every adventurer.
    The easy course, Trail of Treats, is designed for young children, and upon finishing the course, children get to select a toy, book, or pack of candy to take home. The Trail of Treats costs $4 per child with a $10 family maximum; adults may accompany young children at no charge. Costumes are encouraged, but expect to possibly get dirty, especially if it is a wet day.
    Older children and adults may also choose to try one of the more difficult courses; the fee is $10 per person. You may do multiple courses at no additional charge.
    Online pre-registration is encouraged for those doing regular courses. No pre-registration is needed for the Trail of Treats course. Free entry with 2024-25 TROL or WARS season pass.

    Full range of courses from white thru red, for all ages. This event will include a special competition for JROTC cadets. (Co-sponsored by Live Oaks JROTC). Starts are open from 10 am to 1 pm. Control pickup begins at 3 pm.
    Pre-registration for orienteering members and public is required. If you have an Orienteering USA account, it will auto-fill your information; if not, select "enter data manually".   School groups, JROTC teams, and large scout troops should contact Mike Minium for a spreadsheet entry form and should turn it in by Wednesday, October 30. Public registration closes at 11:59 pm, Thursday, October 31. Please help us be ready by not waiting to the last minute to register.
    This event is included in our 2024-25 TROL/WARS season pass, so entry is FREE if you purchase a TROL season pass (HS student or younger) or WARS season pass (adult above high school age)
