Orienteering Cincinnati Events

Public is welcome at all events, unless specifically noted in the announcement. Beginners are always welcome and basic instruction is offered at no charge. OCIN Events are held rain, shine, or snow. In the event of severe storm or snow emergency, check this site on the morning of event.

    annual national event. Friday middle distance courses at McIntosh Reserve. Classic courses Saturday and Sunday at Chatahoochie Bend State Park. Extreme-O course on Monday offers unique navigational and physical challenges

    This event will be hosted by Miami Valley Orienteering Club (MVOC). Courses from white through red, starts are open Noon to 2 pm. MVOC traditionally sets a longer "purple" course instead of red for the Valentine Hunt. Starts will be open noon until 2. Free for TROL and WARS season pass holders; MVOC normal event fees for others.

    courses from white through red. Green Twp Bicentennial Park, Cincinnati. This event will sue the portions of Mt Airy Forest (Cincinnati City Park) south of I-74, but registration and start/finish will be in the adjacent Green Township Bicentennial Park, accessed off Diehl Rd.

March 30-31, 2019     Raccoongaine, Georgetown, Pennsylvania
    The Raccoongaine and Little Raccoongaine are long-duration score style events (commonly known as rogaines). 3 hour course on Saturday, 6 hour course on Sunday. Both solos and teams are permitted. event website

    MetroParks of Butler County Motor Vehicle Permit is required and will be available on site. Butler County residents may get a 2019-2020 permit free with proof of residency. Non-residents may buy a 2019 annual for $10 or a daily for $5. We use MetroParks of Butler County for several events each year.

    OCIN's South Bend Chapter will offer a score style course (go in any order) on this unique map that spans the Indiana-Michigan border, with plenty fo controls in both states. There will also be a cross country course (with navigation).

    events in late September. Great Outdoors Weekend is a regional effort offering many different outdoor activities highlighting Greater Cincinnati Parks and Natural Areas. OCIN will offer free "try it" orienteering courses, sites and times to be determined.

    OCIN's South Bend chapter brings back the second year of the Twisted Run. Easy (white to yellow level difficulty) courses (long and short versions) with a mass start. A few navigation decisions will give navigators the chance to outsmart the speedsters.
